Miradjiyah written and composed by great composer Nayi Osman Dede who died in early 18th century is regarded as one of the masterpieces of Turkish music. The docu-fiction tells the story of Raci's search for this forgotten heritage through four different stories set during his childhood, adolescence and adulthood. In the first story young Raci and his friends listen to aunty Fatma who recounts the story of Prophet Muhammad's "PBUH" miraculous night journey and ascension to the heavens in a country house in Anatolia. In the second story we follow Raci, who is a conservatory student in his early twenties, try learning how to render this musical piece from a master. In the third story we see Raci a music aficionado in his forties searching for the lost chapter in Miradjiyah composition. The fourth story that sums up the journey of Miradjiyah from past to present is set in Numaniye Dervish lodge that continues this tradition for over fifty years now. The narrator of this story is Sir Mehmed Safiyuddin Erhan who is involved with Numaniye Dervish lodge and Miradjiyah ceremonies there since childhood. He is someone who keeps the tradition alive by his personal efforts. Yet in another holy night of the Prophet's ascension to heaven Miradjiyah is recited in congregation at Numaniye Dervish lodge. Raci and his little daughter are among the congregation.
