Attack of the Killer Tomatoes! (1976) ** (out of 4)Everyone knows about the notorious 1978 film but here's a short that was made two years earlier by John De Bello and many of the other cast and crew that would turn up in the feature. This film was shot on 8mm and basically has a bunch of people finding their fate when the tomatoes break free and start to do their thing. There's nothing overly good here but at the same time it's not all that interesting. Well, I guess it'll be interesting to fans of the feature film who want to see an earlier version. Some of the ideas here are used in the feature film but this film lacks the (bad) charm of what would follow.
