Ashes (2016)
26 Aug 2016 • Drama • 1h 11m
5 Greeks gather in a house, in Athens, where a familiar person of theirs died. Trapped in the house while the city centre bursts into chaos and disorder, they cannot agree on how to bury the corpse. Meanwhile, the heat makes the situation oppressive. But they still insist on their differences. The corpse starts decomposing, their relationship is being tested and secrets are revealed. Nothing will be the same again within a few hours. "Ashes" is a hidden allegory about the crisis in Greece. With the excuse of an extreme situation, dealing with a death, and with a sense of black humour, versions of the crisis are introduced and represented by the 5 characters of the film and... the dead one.
