La Danseuse (2013)

Successful (since 1979) French pornographer Marc Dorcel has been farming out his productions lately (to England, Prague, Budapest and Paul Thomas in L.A.), adding to the variety but not necessarily the quality of his glamour-porn. A somewhat egotistical British porn director Kendo ("call me Ken") made this effort, but it fails in most categories.Hardly competing with BLACK SWAN the famous Natalie Portman movie, the ostensible story here concerns women competing for the top spot at a ballet company. Aleksa Diamond is the leading player and narrator, while Sophie Lynx is the new girl (Jessica) for the troupe, and a busty girl named Natalie (some coincidence) is the former lead dancer, actress (as usual with Dorcel videos) unidentified.Problem is we never see the actresses dance at all, apart from a brief posing session at the beginning of the feature, probably because they spent their formative years learning how to suck cock and take it in the posterior, rather than spinning around on their toes. Worse still is that the expected rivalry, cat fight and dramatics are wholly absent. Kendo, as in his other videos, has no interest in storytelling but rather just sets up a scene and apparently yells "Let the humping begin" - another gonzo director more interested in camera angles and lenses than dramaturgy. In one of his "Making of" short subjects Kendo stresses that he wants his approach to be recognizable so that viewers can say "that's a Kendo scene", but I see no evidence of style.Shot in England, the cast speaks mostly in English, while the narration (dubbed over in whatever language you pick on the DVD) carries most of the action. Big cocks, condoms, high heels, black hose, anal sex and a dreamy musical score composed by Dorcel complete the package, not all that different from Dorcel's usual French or Eastern European shoots.
