The Man Hunt! (1915)

The Man Hunt! (1915) ** 1/2 (out of 4)Decent Western has Lionel Stoneheart (Tom Mix) going into the woods for some hunting and after firing a shot two local bootleggers thinks he's coming for them. They end up shooting him but after realizing he wasn't there for them they take him back to their house to recover. Once there Lionel ends up falling in love with a girl just as the real law comes from the two men. Yeah, there's a lot going on in this 11-minute short but fans of these types of films should at least be entertained by it. I'm really not sure why they threw so much plot into this thing because a lot of it never really makes too much sense and especially because the subplots don't get much time to develop before we're off to the next one. For the most part I thought Mix was just fine in the lead role and the supporting cast weren't too bad either. There's not too much action for this type of picture and I think even the most soft-hearted people are going to roll their eyes at the ending.
