Winter came on the shores of the cold sea, and the old leader Turgun led his flock south. On the way, the reindeer had to cross the mountains, and then the river, in order to go out to the pastures where the lichen grows. The herd included Aiho the deer with his mother Tangane the deer. An old, grumpy one-horned deer was mocked at his cowardice every now and then. In the mountains, the cautious leader noticed a pack of wolves chasing deer, and ran, luring all the predators to the abyss.
