Vontes V (1977)

Which animation has stood up the test of time more than good series like Macross and bad series like Golion King of Beasts. The story and plot romance are mostly forgettable, especially the latter is completely non-existant and it reeks of the worst excesses of 70's sexism. The mecha design is cool, BTW.
