This is a time-lapse, made up of roughly 1.400 photographs, depicting a one-year walk from Beijing to Urumqi in 2007/2008. Unlimited growth of hair and beard add liveliness to the resulting video. The complete distance has been covered on foot. Just plain good old walking. There are scenes on airplanes, trains and boats, which were taken during breaks. This is not a strict '1 picture a day' video, since there are many instances where several shots have been taken on the same occasion. The intention was to show movement in the background, include other people in the frame, and make the video more interesting that way. The reference to Teacher Xie in the end is a dedication to a great master of walking.
