Attention! Wolves! (1970)*** (out of 4)Bizarre Russian propaganda film that means to warn people that they don't need to act in a way that will throw them back to Hitler and WWII. The film's center story is about a boy who was found at the end of the war and who was living with wolves. He is brought to an orphanage where they try and train him to act right but he keeps having emotions of a wolf. This film mixes live action with animation and also uses photos from WWII and the Vietnam War to get its point across. This is certainly a strange little picture that works considering what it was trying to do. You could rightfully complain that the film beats the viewer overs their heads with its message and this is something that usually turns me off but I thought it worked well here considering the visuals are just downright beautiful to look at. This isn't a complete success but it's certainly worth watching once.
