Liverpool, la rade (1897)

Liverpool, la rade (1897) The film from the Lumiere company has the camera placed on shore and we get about a minutes worth of footage of boats passing by. The highlight comes towards the end when an extremely long ship passes by the camera. Obviously if you're watching an actuality picture you shouldn't be expecting any sort of ground-breaking drama or anything with a plot. Instead the camera basically captures a moment in time and for my money these things are entertaining simply because they actually transport you back to a the time and place that they were filmed. There's nothing ground-breaking here but it's still fun to watch the footage.
