Danseuse de ballet (1897) If you want to see an actual ballet dancer from 1897 then you'll want to check out this film from the Lumiere Brothers. If you're wanting to see a movie that changed history then you'll want to skip this. In all honesty I really enjoy watching these early actuality movies because you simply get to see someone or at times some place how it was at that time. I don't believe anyone knows who the woman dancing is so I'm going to guess she wasn't anyone famous.but it's still fascinating to watch today. You'll notice a man in the far left corner of the screen who appears to be her coach or just someone enjoying a free show.
