Polidor delivers some goods to a wealthy man, who refuses to pay his bill. When Polidor persists in dunning him, he is challenged to a duel. This short comedy is typical of the better sort of Italian slapstick. Polidor was a very small man in a very large bowler hat, and his arrant clumsiness is very amusing, particularly when he tries to take fencing lessons in preparation for his affair of honor. The director knows how to handle his star very well -- Polidor also directed.Polidor was actually a Frenchman named Ferdinand Guillaume, but no one cared. His film career ended in 1922, and then began again in the late 1930s. He acted in films for Fellini and other distinguished directors until he was more than eighty and died in 1977 at the age of ninety.
