Eskimo Hunters (1949)
Documentary, Short • 0h 20m
Latest in the publicized series of worthwhile, information shorts produced by Louis DeRochemont. It depicts an Eskimo equivalent of the Jones family at work and play in a primitive Alaskan settlement. Father and his young son participate in some remarkable hunting escapades and close-ups of the family dinner table, while not exactly mouth-watering, are interesting, as are scenes at the trading post and a community song-and-dance social. It features fine photography and the narration is handled in direct, simple language that adults will enjoy and children will understand.
