CID Shankar ( Jai Shankar) is on a deadly assignment to catch a gang of diamond smugglers . The gang leader (Nambiar) and his deputy( Major Sundarrajan) devise various ploys to kill Shankar who meanwhile falls in love with Malathy ( Bharati) who is the niece of Sundarrajan. Plot gets thickened when Sundarrajan gets killed when Malathy finds out the real face of her uncle. Shankar ultimately with the help of his crony Nagesh foils the smuggler from receiving the consignment of smuggled diamonds from a ship from Ceylon and in the ensuing fight Nambiar is killed and Shankar marries Malathy. This is a typical James Bond type of movie, with all fancy gadgets and glamour girl (Vijayalalitha).
