Stone Cold Dead in the Market (1946)
23 Sep 1946 • Short, Music • 0h 3m
This is another Soundie I watched on YouTube. In this one, Gracie Barrie sings of how her husband treated her so badly, she beat him dead upside the head with a frying pan, rolling pin, and a pot. That's pretty much all there is to the song and the short and it's all done tongue-in-cheek but sometimes I wonder what was in the minds of the people who wrote this particular song. Still, this was another of those entertaining "music videos" from the '40s that played the Panorams (film jukeboxes) that were displayed in various restaurants, bars, and train or bus stations during that time. So on that note, Stone Cold Dead in the Market is worth a look.
