Doomed to die due to his lacking the Potion of Live, a desperate Matt runs to the woods of Cruben Country on his last day of life, only to discover that the sacred Cruben dirt there proves to be his salvation, relieving him from the necessity for said Potion. Though saved from death, his living in exile in the deep woods for several years brings on a severe case of "Woods Insanity." Bearded and surly, Matt stumbles upon his old friend Charlie, who is in Cruben Country to research the Druid presence in the environs. After some sporting challenges and bonding, the two develop a tenuous friendship--one that rides the razor's edge between being buddies and wanting to murder one another. But when the two discover that Druid Warlord Kevin McGee intends to unleash a deadly scourge known as the "Vapor of Death" upon humanity, killing all non-Druids, Matt's memory is jump-started and he regains his former consciousness. Now, with little but a frying pan and a Wiffle Ball bat to defend themselves, and canned soup for sustenance, (though Matt sometimes has Turkish pudding) the two intrepid warriors set about to save the world from Warlord McGee and his evil scheme.
