The Shims would easily make any Top Five list for mutual indifference, lovelessness, and apathy within a family; the five members share absolutely no common ground. It consists of cheap, stubborn mom, father driven to depression because of her, their son Yong-tae - who thinks he was a king in his past life - and their daughter Yong-sun, to whom existence itself is a mystery. Rounding out the gang is out of work comic book writer aunt Mi-kyung. Bound by blood ties, they live together - albeit awkwardly - under one roof.
