While looking out his back window into his garden, Geoff Adams observed several birds all interacting with one another around his various bird tables and feeders. The idea was born for this interaction to become a musical exchange (or fugue) involving all of them and thus this musical short film was born.The idea is simple and, on the surface, the animation appears to match it by being cut out birds and montages doing simple movements. This is true to a degree but actually the camera moves really well and it does look cool and you soon forget the basic blocks that have created these images and just get caught up in the motion. The musical accompaniment really helps this as it suits the movement and still moments well. The saxophone music will not be to everyone's tastes but those that can appreciate the fugue will find it makes for a surprisingly engaging film.A simple concept and delivery then but one that is much better than the low cost would suggest and benefits from cool musical and visual design and delivery.
