That, however, will not end the matter.The director of this movie, Ferdnand Zecca, started out as a cornet player in cafes. When he performed a two-act with another man, Charles Pathe noticed him, and in a few weeks Zecca was his right-hand man and a major film director, and then head of production. In the early 1910s, Zecca went to America to supervise Pathe's exchange there; later, he was in charge of Pathes home-movie division. He died in 1947 aged 83.
