There were two filmed version of this famous play :the first one starring Raimu was made in 1935 and its remake (considered weaker)in 1958.But as part of the "Au Theatre Ce Soir" ,"L'Ecole Des Cocottes" comes off better.Some lines were cut in the movies ,particularly in the scene when Mademoiselle Amelie spends a night at the concert .Here,we attend the whole scene,and Daniele Deray shines in this part -she's given an ovation at the end of the play-,almost stealing the show from Amarande who portrays an excellent "Cocotte" though.A "Cocotte " was a courtesan,a woman who made his way of live by being supported by a wealthy graybeard who could be his father.
