"La Bous -Bous -Mie" is actually a 1909 movie, but we can spare two years in Feuillade's monumental shorts filmography.Madame Ducordon goes to enjoy the latest fashionable dance at the Casino Des Tourelles. In the hall ,she begins to dance :the man on the stage is cross and the Gendarmes try to stop her.But like Martha and the Vandellas, she keeps on dancing in the streets and the Gendarmes follow suit. The following morning, the new dance "la Bous Bous Mie" has become the new craze and the lady doesn't care if the postman has got a letter for her,she dances with him,and the tenants have a go too.Madame Ducordon hosts a party the very evening .Everybody has a wild time. They can't hear the doorbell and the tenants cannot enter the house anymore .but as soon as they are in Madame Ducordon's room ,they do the Locomo...sorry the "Bous Bous Mie " too.I haven't the slightest idea of what the name of the dance means : sort of mashed potatoes of the early years of the twentieth century, it features the word "Mie" old French for fiancée.
