I've Lost My Eyeglasses (1906)
25 Nov 1906 • Short, Comedy • 0h 4m
This turned out to be a solid slapstick comedy based on a simple theme from an era when simple themes were standard... and usually dully adorned. A man is eating his breakfast, when he notices his eyeglasses are missing. He must have dropped them into the remains of a previous course. His servant reports that the scraps have already been picked up by the trash collector, so he sets off into the street, half blind, colliding with everything and everyone. It's all very natural and humorous, as opposed to the usual assortment of grotesques and outsized collisions that had already begun to collect around slapstick.Segundo de Chomon is credited as the cameraman. It's possible, I suppose.
