The son of an Osaka merchant is goaded and pulled into the city's red light district where, at first, against his better judgment he is introduced to and spends time with a prostitute. His love is returned after he falls for the woman, but a wealthy suitor appears soon enough to buy her contract from the brothel and make her his. The young man is beside himself.
