Joe, an architecture student, is left homeless and destitute by the death of his parents. Unable to finish school, unqualified for work, and psychologically numb from his loss, and with no money, he finds himself, quite literally, out in the cold. Luckily he finds his way to the House, a boarded-up old house where a group of young bohemian squatters have scammed some utilities and manage to get by on what they have. Lisa, a hooker with nasty habits, Kelly, a stranded traveller who took a wrong turn, Cindy, a teenager in over her head, Duncan, a pyromaniac pothead, Michele, an interior designer with bad taste, Kurt, a wannabe rock star, Kika, his nymphomaniac manager/girlfriend, Julie, a mute painter, and Frank, a dirty cop who terrorizes the bunch make for an crazy adventure in human behavior.
