Atún y chocolate (2004)

Pablo Carbonell's 'Atún y Chocolate' is mind-numbingly boring. He writes, directs and acts in it and he scores low in all three departments. It's quite a pretentious little movie that attempts to present itself like a slice of life with some forced 'humour'. None of the jokes worked for me and when will these directors understand that there's a difference between grossing someone out and making someone laugh. Carbonell definitely takes the toilet humour a step further by literally making it very toilet-like. The overall acting is very clichéd. Only actress María Barranco manages to be likable. I was thinking how this time had gone wasted and that I should have done something more productive. Oh well, at least I get to tell people about it so if you do decide to see it because of the original title (though that would make a gross combination for a recipe) then watch it at your own risk.
