The Ten Commandments Number 9: Thou Shalt Not Covet Thy Neighbour's Goods (1995) ** (out of 4) Lesser entry in the Phil Mulloy series has a businessman moving to a poor part of Mexico where he puts his company, which earns him millions. Soon, the poor people he gave jobs to decide to rise up and try to challenge his power and wealth. As with many of the director's work, this one here comes with a certain message and like usually the filmmaker is able to get that message across without becoming preachy. I thought the message here was just fine but there's very little else that I actually enjoyed in this entry to an up and down series. As usual, the animation perfectly fits the subject matter and I really liked some of the stuff Mulloy did when it came time to show the worker's revolt. I also liked the way we see life in Hell, which was a nice touch. Outside of these things I didn't find too much here to enjoy. At just five-minutes the film felt a little too long as there were a few spots where it dragged. Another problem I had is that it simply wasn't that funny, which is something a lot of the weaker films have in common.
