When I saw this movie for the 1st. time I guess I was 7 or 8 years old, I couldn't watch it entirely because of it's high violence grade. A few years later, I could watch it completely. Actually I think it wasn't that violent as I remember but still...RATAS THE VECINDAD may be extremely low budget, but it accomplishes it's goal: show the disturbing situation in the poorest homes in México. This movie is extremely violent, it's somewhat disturbing to watch the entire film without feeling uncomfortable. It's sad but it happens in some places, in some underground ghettos. Great performance by Gómez Cruz. RATAS DE VECINDAD has to be one of the most violent movies of the 80's Mexican cinema.I'm not saying by any means that this movie is good overall, it's just a good example to show some disturbing situations in México D.F.
