Mustang Pete promises three dollars and twenty cents to anyone who will make him a hero. Slim hears of the offer and raises the price fifty-five cents. Slim and Pete quarrel and decide to settle the argument with a duel. Both men are nearly scared to death, and the duel is a terrible fizzle. Pete is given a note proclaiming him a hero, and he rushes to Sophie to claim her for his own. Slim gets a professional bad man to stop the wedding, and many complications arise, which are decidedly comical.
