The three brothers Edgar, Frank and Charly King appear as clowns in Blackpool's Tower Circus. One day as they are on their way to their pension, they see a young woman taking refuge in a taxi and collapsing there. As it turns out, the woman is Maria, the stepdaughter of the lion tamer Fredo. And she is trying to get away from his brutal treatment.
