Rural Life in Maine (1930)
Unrated Short, Documentary • 0h 12m
This film is from the DVD collection "Treasures from American Film Archives (2000)"--a set of mostly ephemeral films that have been preserved by 18 different groups, as otherwise the films would have just degraded over time."Rural Life in Maine" is a silent film which depicts the dull lives of rural folks in this northern state--and they are mostly farming though some appears to be footage of long-dead folks working, celebrating birthdays, chopping down trees, breathing, fiddling, etc.. While it's not exactly exciting stuff and looks more like a home movie than anything else, it is very important historically--chronicling a bygone era in history. The film is accompanied by a piano score.
