Life with Alkis (1988)
01 Oct 1988 • Drama • 1h 23m
Alkis, an autistic eleven-year-old boy, closes himself off and denies any communication or interaction with his environment. Under those circumstances, his French mother, unable to bear the stress, has abandoned her family, seeking refuge in France. However, Alkis' journalist father opposes her decision to lock him up in an institution, recognising the child's right to live in a shielded, peaceful world filled with love. Between the father and son, a strange, intricate code of communication develops, utterly indecipherable to all those outside Alkis' circle of trust.
