This is film based on novel Konstantine Gamsakhurdia , It describes Georgia in 11th century, relationships between social classes, and a true love of king Giorgi and Shorena. the hero Arsakidze is a great architect, by a chance he has been trusted to build a huge church - Svetickoveli, Arsakidze is childhood friend of Shorena and loves her, but he hasn't right of that , cause he is Zuzumte of her , it means he and she are like brother and sister, the law of Zuzumte bans them to love each other, when Shorena is recognized to king Giorgi , he fells in love with her and there it continues to tragic final!
