The gags are too wide spaced in this slapstick two reeler set in Africa, where St. John encounters stop motion animated elephants, which (at least in the muddy copy) are indistinguishable from the real one they use.Our comic hero gets involved with comic dogs before he gets to the hotel, where the owner of another pooch (the animals are well trained) proves to be the father of fetching Hutton. Al finds himself competing with the great white hunter and preventing his chum tumbling down a cliff in the leaf house strapped to the real elephant's back. Too many kick in the pants jokes. Production values are not bad.
