With his inconspicuous, well-worn leather suitcase crammed with 600,000 drachmas in crisp banknotes, Periklis Lianos leaves behind his sleepy village of Xirochori, desirous of creating a better future in bustling Athens. So, with this in mind, the unsophisticated, good-natured countryman heads to the faceless capital, unbeknownst to him that his precious cargo has already caught unwanted attention. And before long, poor Periklis starts crossing paths with sly opportunists, cunning tricksters, and seductive temptresses, all bent on rinsing him for every penny.
