La Carne Manda, (The Flesh Commands is yet another romantic drama from the well-known Director and Actor, Chano Urueta. It tells the tale of a man who finds himself caught up in a torrid love triangle with two beautiful women. One is a talented outgoing blonde cabaret performer played by actress (and singer in her own right), Rosita Fornes. The other woman in this three-way relationship is played by the dark-haired siren, Esther Fernandez, (who was married to actor Antonio Badu at this time). Interestingly, although Fornes starred in only a half-dozen or so films during her entire career, she was able to make an impact as an the Golden Age of Mexican Cinema. The film also features performances by Jose Pulido and Eva Calo, and is highlighted by several musical numbers.
