One of the finest movies ever made in the history of Indian cinema. But didn't get much exposure. I watched this movie when I was about 5 years old and it then had made a very significant impression on me.This is a movie which gives you an idea about the origin of "kuchipudi" dance. It is about the people who considered a boy performing "kuchipudi" dance an embarrassment and about a man who is fighting tooth and nail to pass on the heritage of "kuchipudi". He finally manages to find a girl who he trains in "kuchipudi". As, girls learning kuchipudi was not accepted in that era he gets outcast from his caste, place and also the religious places.Movies like these are not re made and are lost in time. This is a must watch movie if you are interested in learning about "kuchipudi". This is one of Girish Karnad's best performances.
