The King (Larry Semon) is a total jerk and treats his staff like dirt. Is it any wonder that the staff, led by General Alarm (Oliver Hardy), are about to commit regicide?! But before they can kill the jerk, along wanders a nobody (also Larry Semon)...a nobody who is the spitting image of the King. So, without realizing WHY, he agrees to switch places with the King and soon everyone is trying to kill the poor guy. Can he survive this onslaught of hate? For lovers of old comedies, you'll likely recognize Vernon Dent and, possibly James Finlayson (under more makeup than usual). Dent appears at about the 8:30 mark and is instrumental in helping the schnook avoid an early demise....so it seems odd he's not listed in the credits.Overall, this is a clever and better than average Larry Semon flick. Not his very best...but close. I think most of it is because the film offers a nice change of pace and not the usual Semon touches.
