Subhalekha (1982)

This movie shows why viswanath is considered a great director. The movie never slacks anywhere and its like a textbook on how to make a movie on a social evil and not be overly preachy and still make the maximum impact. Chiranjeevi excels in his role as murthy. I think this was the time when he was not a prisoner of his image and fit into the role like 'T'.special mention needs to be given to sudhakar on his debut. Then there is the small matter of Sumalatha who is the lead actress of the movie. I just can't get her out of my head.she epitomizes the beauty of simple Indian girl who oozes simplicity and still be sexy in a way which is indescribable and blow off your mind. one of the best sequences in the movie is where tulasi ,sister of sumalatha makes satyanarayana come to his knees in a way that just cracks me up.Finally a real special mention for music needs to be given.
