Loosely based on the 19th century children's story, "Purse with Two Coins" by the Romanian writer Ion Creanga, this playful fantasy romp complete with musical and animated interludes, tells the story of an old man who makes a bet with a fairy that he can hide a bag with two golden coins from her for a week. The central character is a cyborg rooster, born out of a union between a love struck chicken and a metal cockerel shaped weather-vane, that finds the bag. Along the way we meet the old man's wife, the fairy's husband, known as the King of Dragons, a traveling circus performer and his beautiful daughter, a love struck musician, Prince Charming, his consort Ileana Cosanzeana and a pair of unlucky thieves.
