Self Storage (2000)
Short, Comedy
Self Storage is a true-to-life comedy about a completely unique, unknown, hidden world. Down these endless halls, behind these bolted doors, there are more than just lockers full of forgotten stuff. There are forgotten people living, working and struggling to survive: Many homeless, elderly, druggies, immigrant families, divorcees, latch key children, transvestites, garage bands, even dead relatives - all call this home. And so does our main character, Zack, played by Scott Foley, who is recovering from the loss of this dearest friend. Zack thinks his life is actually on course, when actually its being stored away like all the others Self Storage is about real-life humanity. Its about a quirky family of people who reside under one roof. People who care for one another, understand one another and help one another through their daily existence. It is through this friend, Duncan-the-handyman, played by Jeff Garlin, and Self Storage family that Zack finally confronts and resolves his dilemma.
