El misterioso señor Marquina (1943)
16 Jul 1943 • Drama, Mystery
This Mystery-Crime Drama, (also released under the alternative title, "Ladron de Etiqueta"), was both written and directed by the talented Chano Urueta during the uncertain times of the Second World War. It is his attempt at dealing with the age-old theme of "good versus evil" that was so reassuringly popular during this terrifying period in world history. The film relies a bit of a twist, in that the main plot focuses on the conflict between identical twins, where one is the brother who has "gone bad" by becoming a career criminal ,(and someone who is capable of all sorts of cruel misdeeds). Not surprisingly then, in contrast, the other brother is the "good" twin, who is obviously opposes his evil sibling. In fact, He feels morally responsible as well as determined to stop him - just about any way he can. The film is complemented by its all star cast, including Actor-Director Rene Cardona, Victor and Tito Junco, Jose Pulido and Roberto Canedo, just to name a few.
