Abachurina Post Office (1973)
1h 54m
A man sees potential in bringing a post-office to his village. This new communication system brings him many happy moments as too a few sad ones. With Nani playing the main role and a young Ramesh Bhat utterly raw as a rich man's son, this seems a film much older than it is. But for the actors, I could easily have mistook it to be a 50s production. The story is based on a Poornachandra Tejaswi short story. A throwback to a different era, there is a lot to be happy about this. Like a cross between Malgudi Days and old theatrical works, Abachurina Post Office is worth watching: that is if you can get hold of a CD. It does seem a very unheard of film.
