Of Dice and Men (1988)
Short, Animation • 0h 11m
Using splashy hand-drawn animation, the story about a man who ends up in the hospital and probability theory is illustrated. When the guy awakens in a hospital bed, the doctor begins spouting all sorts of statistical probabilities--at which point the patient seems confused. So, the doctor explains the history behind probability theory as well as its application. My bet is that the average person will not seek out this film nor will they appreciate it--though it is a good cartoon. That is because this is an educational film all about probability theory. Most people don't seek out such films, though I could see that as being invaluable for statistics and probability classes--such as for high school or college. For these specific groups, they'll enjoy the film and get a lot out of it.Well made and fun (or at least as fun as you could make this topic).
