Singing star Alberto Vasquez was perfect for the lead in Pancho Tequila. Released in 1970,...and in color, Pancho Tequila ...if my memory serves ...is the story of a movie actor who has starred in Mexican westerns and is thought to be as tough as the character he portrays is somehow caught up in a small towns problems and naturally being known as the tough and fearless "Pancho Tequila", is shanghaied into rescuing the town. I can remember how much the audience laughed back in the day when I saw it. At the present, I am on a hunt for a copy of this movie in either VHS or DVD. If by chance you come across it, and you like funny westerns, Grab IT! Oh, by the way, the movie's dialog in it's entirety is in Spanish. A Very Special Thanks to my late mom for taking this reluctant son of hers to go see it and getting me hooked on ..... "Pancho Tequila" !
