A gang of thieves and murderers plans an attack on a farmer's house. They kill his two faithful servants and burn the farmer in order to get the location of his receipts from his market sales. The farmer does not give in. When the robbers are about to burn the feet of the farmer's child, the wife in desperation gives in and reveals the secret. Just as the robbers are escaping the wife manages to catch a glimpse of the chief's face. Then later the thieves' abode is discovered by the police. A chase follows, resulting with the capture of the chief, who is found guilty when at his trial the farmer's wife makes her appearance and accuses the thief. As punishment for his crimes, the robber is executed by guillotine and his body tossed into an unmarked grave.
