Money and the Wretched (1964)
Comedy • 1h 28m
Underpaid and always struggling to make ends meet, the honest accountant, Kosmas Peristeris, has still a long way to go before he finally manages to walk down the aisle with his supportive fiancée for four long years, Eleni. Under those circumstances--and if that isn't enough--an unexpected illness and an urgent wake-up call by Eleni's impatient brother, Thanassis, will have Kosmas swallowing his pride in search of money; however, the solution may be closer than he thinks. Babis, Kosmas' cousin and a street-wise cabaret owner, is willing to offer a mutually profitable partnership--one that involves one of his beautiful girls; the exotic brunette and ravishing Spanish singer, Lolita Marena. Will Eleni, and above all, Thanassis, agree?
