I watched this movie three times over the past six years so I better get a review posted. "Jade Faced" can be translated as pretty or feminine faced so that can explain the title. Some of these movies have many other titles but I find no other titles for this one.For the whole movie Lily poses as a man. She has minimal feminine traits in contrast to the usual hot chick posing as a man. The plot is rather overcomplicated but at the bottom is twins separated at birth to be reunited at a dramatic moment later in life. The plot was remade in 1979 as "Proud Twins". That's the Alex Fu Sheng movie. I liked that movie a lot more mostly because of Alex Fu Sheng. In this movie I enjoyed Mei Sheng Fan's character the most.Yes, the fights are scarce and that usually means the action drags but this movie did maintain a good pace. My only complaint about the action was the wire work looked too much like poor puppeteering at times and the reverse motion was over used.Shaw Brothers spent a bundle on outdoor sets for 1971 as seen with the big bridge, the pagoda and the Tiger gang fortress all visible in "The New One-Armed Swordsman" for one movie. None of that is seen in this movie. There are the usual fabulous indoor sets plus some also fabulous outdoor remote locations that Shaw Brothers rarely bothered to travel to despite being nearby.Overall just another just above average movie from Shaw Brothers during their golden age of martial arts movies.
