In early 1990s Cairo, Mohammed (Hamada) a 13 year old boy struggles with school, his emerging sexuality, poverty, and a search for a sense of belonging. After being invited to a mosque by a teacher at his school, Mohammed quickly finds his place with Islamists. This new ideology clashes with his home life, and leads him to develop an entirely new perception of the definitions of right and wrong, and how to confront the newly percieved immoralities.
