Tie quan zheng ba (1972)
20 Apr 1972 • Adventure, Drama • 1h 24m
The movie starts in a tea house with a singer. A well-fed older guy is looking for a girl for the night. This causes a fight. His kung fu school then bans him but the troubles are not settled. My copy is a computer file made from a VHS tape source. The picture is square on a HDTV with the sides chopped as typical for VHS video. The subtitles are Chinese and English.I am a hard core fan of this genre and have watched thousands of these movies. Yet, I am not familiar with any of the actors here despite their extensive credits. When I come across an obscure title like this I don't expect much and this time I got even less. I cannot recommend this movie to fans like me and rate it below average. It seems older than its release date of 1972. There is too much talking and most is exposition. The fights are all subpar and look more like rehearsals. Typically the stunt men can raise the level by selling the action but it seems they couldn't put in the effort.
