L'aigle et la colombe (1977)
04 May 1977 • Drama, Thriller • 1h 40m
I am not so surprised by the theme of this movie directed by Claude Bernard Aubert, the same man who gave us L'AFFAIRE DOMINICI, starring Jean Gabin, but who also made nude and sex films several years later. So this "Nazi genre" film, as you could find by batches in the late seventies, corny films, lousy pictures, this kind of stuff doesn't surprise me...This kind of garbage were not war movies although they took place during the war, in SS death camps, in torture chambers or brothels for Nazis, with tons of sadistic sequences. This movie takes place now, during the seventies and in Germany where a young American student is abducted by a neo Nazi organization who prepares a coup, using a man to become the new Führer of Germany. I won't say I don't like this movie, the ending is OK for me, but this is so bad. This such a shame for this talented director, a former war reporter who went to Indochina in the fifties, as Pierre Schoendoefffer or Raoul Coutard did. Don't miss CHARLIE BRAVO form this director. I commented it too.
